About the Malta Resident Parking Map

The Malta Resident Parking Map is an independent, community-maintained project that makes Malta and Gozo's resident-only and timed parking rules easy to see on one map — alongside public car parks, Park & Ride, bus and ferry routes, cycling and hiking trails, and everyday services such as EV charging, pharmacies and petrol stations. It exists to answer a simple, frustrating question: can I park here?

Why this exists

Malta's controlled parking schemes are spread across legislation, local-council notices and on-street signs that are easy to miss. Visitors and residents alike get caught out. This project gathers that scattered information into a single, readable map so you can check an area before you drive there — and understand the rules behind it through the parking guide and FAQ.

Who runs it

The site is built and maintained by Jonathan Pace, an individual based in Malta, as a personal civic project. It is not affiliated with Transport Malta, LESA, any local council or the Government of Malta. For any question, correction or feedback, use the contact form.

How the map is maintained

Information is compiled from official regulations (such as the S.L. 363.80 controlled parking schemes), government and local-council publications, open data including OpenStreetMap, and reports from people on the ground. Each record carries a verification status, and anything that can't be independently confirmed is marked as approximate or unverified rather than presented as fact. The full methodology is on the data sources page.

It is a living project: every correction submitted through the site improves its accuracy for everyone. If you spot a missing zone or an out-of-date detail, please let us know.

How it is funded
